The second China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference was convened in Bangkok, Thailand from the 16th to 19th of September 2005. The theme of this conference was “enhancing regional procuratorial cooperation to protect human rights”. H.E. Mr. Chitchai Wannasathit, then-Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Thailand attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. About 200 delegates from China and ASEAN member states, which include prosecutors general/deputy prosecutors general and attorneys general/deputy attorneys general attended the conference. The conference called on all parties giving full play to the functions of prosecutorial organs and strengthening law-enforcement cooperation to protect human rights effectively.
