For the purpose of conducting pragmatic cooperation in combating transnational crimes, a Regional Cooperation Coordinating Meeting of the China-ASEAN Prosecution Services was held in Nanning, China.

On 25th April, 2017, the Regional Cooperation Coordinating Meeting of the China-ASEAN Prosecution Services was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. The meeting aims to enhance mutual trust, gather consensus and promote pragmatic cooperation among China-ASEAN prosecution services, and jointly combat transnational crimes in the region.

Since it was established in 2004, the China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference Mechanism has gradually developed into a significant exchange and cooperation platform for prosecution services in region. The procuratorates of China and the prosecution services of ASEAN member states earnestly implemented the successive joint declarations of the China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference, and have effectively conducted a variety of pragmatic cooperation, such as mutual visits, professional training and seminar, criminal judicial assistance. The conference mechanism has played an important role in combat transnational organized crime, promote economic development of the region and contribute to the regional stability and regional economic cooperation.

The China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference Official Website and the China-ASEAN Prosecutors Exchange and Training Base are significant for further strengthening judicial exchange and cooperation between China and its ASEAN counterparts.

Delegates from China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attended the meeting. Dr. Cui Zhiyou, Chief Prosecutor of the People’s Procuratorate of Guagnxi Zhuang Autonomous Region addressed the opening ceremony.
