Public prosecutors as the lawyers of the state have duties to render criminal justice, to preserve the state’s interest, to protect rights and liberty and to provide legal aid to the people.

 

Providing legal assistance to the people is as following:

1.     Legal consultation without charge.

2.     Assistance in making juristic acts and contracts.

3.     Mediation, conciliation and dispute settlement.

4.     Protecting the rights to the judicial proceeding as stipulated in the law that is of the public prosecutors’ responsibility to do for the people such as; filing a request to the court for a court order of appointing an administration of an estate, acceptance of child adoption, a court order of appointing a guardian, deprivation of parental power, a person adjudged incompetent, and a curator appointment.

5.     Assistance in legal proceedings for the poors facing injustice by providing a voluntary to assist them in the court.

6.     Legal consultation and assistance in the consumer cases.

7.     Legal consultation to Thais residing abroad and their relatives in Thailand, diffusing legal knowledge to the people.

 

Required documents for request of administrator appointment:

1.     The house registration of the deceased.

2.     The house registration of the petitioner for administrator appointment.

3.     The death certificate of the deceased.

4.     The death certificate of the deceased’s father and/or mother in case that they had died before the deceased (testator).

5.     The marriage certificate of the deceased.

6.     The marriage and/or divorce certificate of the spouse of the deceased.

7.     The certificate of first or last name change of the heirs of the deceased and persons involved in the inheritance.

8.     The birth certificate of children of the deceased in case they are minor or cannot give their consent.

9.     Government official’s identification card or identification card of petitioner.

10. The will of the deceased (if any).

 

Required documents for child adoption:

1.     Copy of the house registration of the adopted child (if any).

2.     Copy of the house registration of the adopter.

3.     The birth certificate of the adopted child.

4.     The marriage certificate of the adopter (if any).

5.     The letter of adoption consent by the spouse (if legally married only).

6.     The death certificate of the child’s mother and/or father (if died).

7.     The police report receipt in case of the adopted child having no identity evidence (if abandoned).

8.     Evidence of the house registration of the adopted child’s parents; a certified copy from the Central Registration Office.

9.     Other related documents (which is useful for the matter).

 

Required documents for divorce case:

1.     The marriage certificate.

2.     The house registration and the identification card of petitioner.

3.     The house registration of the opposing party (husband or wife) attaching Thor Ror 14/1.

4.     The birth certificate of children (if any).

5.     The house registration and the identification card of children (if any).

6.     The certificate of financial of the opposing party (husband or wife) in case of requesting an allowance of child maintenance, for example; the certificate of salary, commercial registration certificate etc.

7.     The police report receipt or the medical certificate in case of physical assault.

8.     Related witnesses.

 

Required documents for legitimating a child:

1.     The house registration and the identification card of petitioner.

2.     The birth certificate of child.

3.     The house registration of child’s mother (attaching Thor Ror 14/1) in case that the consent of the child’s mother can be sought.

4.     Passport or work permit in Thailand (if child’s mother is foreigner).

5.     The certificate of first or last name change of father, mother or minor (if changed).
