
On July 23, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Dr. Cui Zhiyou, Chief Prosecutor of the People’s Procuratorate of Guangxi Autonomous Region.

Dr. Cui Zhiyou briefed on judicial reform of Guangxi Procuratorial organs to Mr. Ame XONGYEARLANG, Chief Provincial People’s Prosecutor of Sayaboury Province of Laos
From July 23 to August 5, 2017, China-ASEAN Prosecutors Exchange and Training Base hosted a 12-days training course for the Laotian senior prosecutors. 14 senior prosecutors headed by Mr. Ame XONGYEARLANG, Chief Provincial People’s Prosecutor of Sayaboury Province of Laos attended the course at the Exchange and Training Base.
During the 10th China-ASEAN Prosecutors General Conference last November, the initiatives of the China-ASEAN Prosecutors General Conference Official Website and the China-ASEAN prosecutors Exchange and Training Base proposed by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of P. R. China was actively echoed by the ASEAN Counterparts, and were written on the Joint Declaration of the Conference. On January 4th 2017, the China-ASEAN Prosecutors General Conference Official Website and the China-ASEAN Prosecutors Exchange and Training Base were established in Nanning, Guangxi P. R. China.
During the courtesy call, Dr. Cui Zhiyou briefed the guest on judicial reform progress of Guangxi. He said, with the continuous development of China-Laos relations and advancing of the “Belt and Road” construction, a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Laos has entered into a new phase. Bilateral exchanges and cooperation between Chinese procuratorial organs and its Laotian counterpart tend are closer and more frequent. This training course is the second training course of the China-ASEAN Prosecutors Exchange and Training Base since its opening on January 4 this year. The procuratorial organs of Guangxi conscientiously carried out of the decisions of the Central Government, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate and the CPC of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, new progress have been achieved in promoting judicial responsibility reform and impelling the criminal litigation system reform. He added, both China and Laos are socialist countries, which share similar procuratorial systems and cultures. Procuratorial organs of Guangxi will implement consensuses and agreements reached or signed by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China and the Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor of Laos and carry out cooperation in the fields of exchanges, prosecutors training and judicial assistance so as to make due contributions for regional stability and harmonious development.
Mr. Ame XONGYEARLANG appreciated opportunities offered by the Guangxi procuratorial organs. He hoped both sides to further strengthen exchange and cooperation, learn from each other’s experience, increase mutual understanding and trust, as well as consolidate and develop mutual exchange and cooperation mechanism.
Prof. Wen Hui, Director of Procuratorial Theory Teaching and Research Department of National Prosecutors College, Mr. Luo Shaohua, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the People’s Procuratorate of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Ms. Chen Jieying, Director of Political Department of the People’s Procuratorate of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region also attended the courtesy call.
During the training the Laotian delegation will attend a variety of training curriculums, such as Reform of Chinese Criminal Judicial System and Judicial System, Introduction of Chinese Fundamental Realities and Basic Situation of Guangxi. Delegates will visit the People’s Procuratorate of Jiangnan District and attend court hearing at the People’s Court of Qingxiu District.
